This stunning Beech was estimated at well over 300 years old, unfortunately it had suffered badly from a large low limb failing many years ago, the resulting wound had caused a large amount of decay in the base of the tree. Due to the location of the tree being so close to the busy A39 it was decided by the county council that the safest option was to fully remove it.
